Dublin fails to appear in Top 20 International Startup Ecosystem Ranking

10 years ago entrepreneurship was the name of the game in Irish public policy and our ranking in the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor was a metric we were all concerned with. A good job was done and, despite the recession, we fare very well on international comparisons in GEM reports.

However the game has moved on and we now need to pay attention to the ‘helicopter’ view of the health of the Dublin entrepreneurship ecosystem rather than individual programmes or outstanding entrepreneurial successes within it.

The Sunday Business Post picked up on this report ( http://bit.ly/TL1wTd ) . Cities were evaluated based on eight criteria, including the performance of companies located there and access to talent. Besides Tel Aviv and London at number seven, North American cities dominated the top 10 in the study, which was paid for by Telefonica.
