Why US start ups get bigger faster than UK startups

Very interesting report from National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts http://www.nesta.org.uk/home1/assets/features/atlantic_drift which finds that there are some key differences between US and UK funds: US funds are typically larger, make larger investments, make twice as many investments, do more follow-on funding and more frequently come together in syndicates to invest.
